For in-person appointments, prior to signing.

All signers and witnesses must bring a valid (meaning unexpired), government-issued photo identification and any documents that need notarization.

Yes, please place your pets in a safe and secure area away from the signing area. While pets are amazing and we love showing love to our furry friends, sometimes they can be a distraction from the process. Our goal is to make sure you're comfortable with and understand what you are signing.

Illinois requires identification documents to be valid (meaning unexpired) at the time of the notarial act, issued by a state agency, federal government agency, or consulate, and bear the photographic image of the individual’s face and signature of the individual (5 ILCS 312/6-102[d]).

This includes but is not limited to:

• State-issued driver's license
• State-issued identification card
• U.S. passport issued by the U.S. Department of State
• U.S. military ID
• State, county and local government IDs
• Permanent resident card, or "green card," issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
• Foreign passport
• ID deemed acceptable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
• Inmate ID issued by the State Department of Corrections or Federal Bureau of Prisons

In the State of Illinois, expired identifications at the time of notarizations and copies of IDs are not permitted.

Important update regarding acceptable identification: Illinois notaries are now authorized to accept digital Illinois' drivers licenses and state IDs presented via Apple Wallet on an iPhone. Acceptance of the digital format is valid only for individuals who are current Illinois residents holding an Illinois-issued ID.

Witnesses for mobile notary appointments can be provided for qualifying appointments. Availability is subject to scheduling and document requirements. Witnesses for remote online notarizations (RON) are always available. Subject to an additional fee.

As a mobile notary, we travel locally to any city within a 10-mile radius of Downtown Wheaton, IL and non-locally to any city within 11-15 mile radius of Downtown Wheaton, IL.

RON is remote online notarization. RONs are notarizations completed online, electronically, via a safe and secure platform. This is perfect for anyone who is unable to leave their home or office, elderly, or people out of the country with U.S.-based documents. All that is needed from you is a tablet, laptop, computer with a camera to log on from.

We handle personal, business, estate planning, and real estate documents. Common, everyday documents that can be notarized online are acknowledgments, affidavits, certain business documents, powers of attorney, medical forms, school paperwork, travel consent letters, trusts, and other records requiring notarization under Illinois law. 

We are unable to notarize testamentary estate planning documents. Those would be a deed of real property and a certificate of title for a vehicle, watercraft, or aircraft.

The beauty of remote online notarization is that you as the signer can be anywhere in the world. Only the electronic notary must be located in the state of Illinois at the time of remote online notarization.

Your U.S. based document can be notarized while you are anywhere in the world. We use the platform BlueNotary to complete your documents.

Some things you will need to know about prior to scheduling your appointment:

• You will need to have a valid, meaning unexpired, ID. This can be your driver's license, state ID, passport, or any other government issued ID that has your picture and your signature. When you first sign on, the system is going to ask for you to hold up your ID so it may take a picture of it or you can upload a photo of it yourself using your phone.
• If you don't have a valid ID, you may use a Credible Witness. Your credible witness will need to provide their ID and answer a few questions.
• Illinois requires KBA verification, which is Knowledge Based Authentication Verification. KBA verification is simple. The system will ask 5 questions that only you as the signer would know from personal or private data. • Biometric Authentication can be used as an alternative to KBA. For biometric authentication, you will take a selfie in the system which will then be compared to your ID to verify you are who you say you are.
